ALBUM REVIEW:

Artist: Blondie
Album: The Curse of Blondie
Label: Sanctuary Records
Rating:
Reviewer: Chad Malone

Remember the Blondie days of ol'? "Call me!"... great song. Whatever happened to them? Did they die in some horrible rock star way? No? What? They've been making music non-stop since the 80's? ... wow, this is news to me. I knew Debbie Harry has done some Oscar© worthy acting (note the sarcasm,) but I had no idea Blondie was still around.

The drums on this album run a fine line between drum machine and simplistic snare drumming. Debbie Harry's vocals are rather mono-toned and unenergetic. I've been searching for something good to say about this album, and I think it's that it's produced really well. It sounds great, crisp, clear. Other than that, the album is rather boring and nerve wrecking.

Perhaps there is something to Blondie that I've missed in their 20 year career span, but the appeal of them is lost on me. I'm sure Blondie fans will hate me after this review, but I'm also sure they'll probably like this new album. Hey, not everyone can be a fan, can they? I don't condone downloading of any sort, but you may want to listen to this album someway before buying it. There are plenty of other, better choices out there right now.
