From the beginning, I knew it was going to be a good movie. My friends and I secured a 4th row seat well before the movie began to make sure we would have a good vantage point for the horror that was about to unfold. The introduction was a little scary itself. “What you are about to see is a true account of the tragedy that befell five youths…” (Although the story is very loosely based on Edward Gein) Well, you can’t really tell from written words, so just take my word for it. You will get chills.

As the movie begins, the ‘five youths’ mentioned in the introduction are on their way to a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert when they almost hit a young woman with their van. The girl is obviously in shock and is afraid of something. Erin(Jessica biel) and Pepper(Erica Leerhsen) help the girl into their van and they continue on to the concert. The shaken girl, played by Lauren German, tells them that ‘they are all dead’ and that she wants to go home. That’s when she spreads her legs and…

Well, I’m not going to spoil it for you, but from that point on, nothing but bad things happen to the 5 teens. The guys go through the worst of it. I felt really bad for Morgan(Jonathan Tucker), Kemper(Eric Balfour), and Andy(Mike Vogel). No one deserves to go through what they went through in this movie. There was more than one time that everyone in the theatre with us jumped out of their seats they were so scared. I think my friends and I were the only ones that didn’t.

The amount of gruesome things in this movie is enough reason to watch it. Things are done to people in this movie that haven’t been done in other movies. When you stop and think that something like that really happened…it’s a really scary thought. The only thing I can’t tell you about this movie is how it stacks up to the original, since I never saw the original. I have, however, heard that it is better than the original.

If I would list three reasons to watch this movie, these would be them. First, Jessica Biel is very, very hot. The women out there may not think this a legitimate reason, but it is. Second, this movie is somewhat scary, but very, very gruesome. I was surprised at the sheer amount of pain I felt just watching it. Third, the sheriff, played by R. Lee Ermy, is the funniest character I have seen in a long time. If you have a weak stomach, don’t go see this movie. Everyone else, on the other hand, should go see it. It’s worth your money.
