+++ Tenacious D: The Complete Masterworks +++ Artist: Tenacious D Title: The Complete Masterworks Rating: 5 of 5 Reviewer: Chad Malone There are two kinds of people in this world, Tenacious D fans and Tenacious D psycho fans. No matter which category you fit into, there is definitely something for you in this 2-disc tenaciously action packed DVD. And, it has a very convenient low price! Disc 1 contains all of the Tenacious D shows originally aired on HBO. In these episodes, you see the birth and early livings of some of the D's most popular songs that fill their legendary album. In addition to the HBO series, there is a delicious D concert recorded in London at the Brixton Academy. This is a great chance to see the D perform some of their best songs live, considering if you've tried to get tickets to one of their shows it was more than likely sold out. Disc 2 labeled "Psycho Fans" is everything a D fan could ever ask for... and then some. It starts out with three HBO short films that should have came with a warning of some sort. Be cautious when you jump into watching those... you may get more than you bargained for. It also contains two documentaries (On The Road, and In The Studio,) three TV appearances, and three music videos with two making-of videos. Although you probably couldn't fill this with more material, one thing I would have liked to have seen was a documentary on the development of their songs. The 'inspirado.' And also the D's appearance on SNL when JB hosted. Other than that it lives up to it's title of "Complete Master Works." Also, be sure to look for the Easter Eggs on the second disc, (hint: hit left or right on your remote on the main menu to find some hilarious stuff.) This is a must have for any D fan, but I don't really need to say that because if you are a D fan, you would already own this wonderful piece of rock 'n roll DVD history.
