TV SPOTLIGHT: THE FINAL FATE OF OUR FRIENDS

Redfield

For nine years we have watched the relationship of friends grow into something more, for years we have had a date with Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Joey, and Phoebe, every Thursday night. Well, this season marks the end of it!

We have been there with them through some major affairs: the day Joey moved in, the day Phoebe gave birth to her brother’s triplet’s, Monica and Chandler’s wedding, and of course, every second of Ross and Rachel’s relationship. We know all of their sayings, “How you doin’?”, “He’s her lobster”, and possibly the most famous, “We were on a break!”. A break that led to one of the most popular break-ups on television. A ping-pong like relationship between Ross and Rachel. A relationship that was thought to be rekindled, by many, due to the birth of Emma.

But, this season is out to change our minds. Ross and Rachel haven’t been together for six years, yet the feelings for each other have always been visible. However, this season there is a new “friend” in Rachel’s life, Joey. For the past two years we have known how Joey has felt about Rachel, but this year the romance has been ignited. Although it took Ross sometime to adjust to the thought, he seems to want to move on. He’s not the only one having problems with the new found relationship! Rachel and Joey seem to be having a hard time getting used to the idea as well

Which leads me to believe that this season will end with Rachel and Joey realizing it won’t work and Ross will realize that he will always love Rachel, and maybe, just maybe “he is her lobster”. But I guess we will just have to wait and watch as the final season reveals the fate of our friends!
