+++ Teen Issues: Get Informed to Make a Difference +++

There are many presidential hopefuls running against president Bush this election. But, as history shows, a single-term president is a pretty rare occasion. Only presidents who are extremely unpopular are voted out of office after just four years as commander in chief.

I'm a 20 year-old college student and, in my demographic, Bush is not a popular president. Even though my contact with other age groups is relatively limited, I tend to get the impression that Bush is not only unpopular among kids my age, but adults as well. Many blame the war on Iraq, the sluggish economy and other problems on Bush. For the most part, I place the blame in the same place but, please, get the facts before you start talking trash. I've heard a lot of my friends unload all their opinions on Bush. I'm not a big fan either, but many of the opinions voiced by my peers are unfounded and based on personal bias and ignorance. And when ignorant people start arguing, it's really annoying.

The key is staying informed and taking action. If you're going to say you don't like Bush, vote against him in the next election. Even though the chances of his defeat are quite low, you can at least say you did something to get him out of there instead of sitting on your hands and complaining.

I'm not going to say anything about who I think you should vote for. Find that out for yourself. If you're not content with the way things are going in America, watch the news, read the paper and do your homework on the presidential candidates. Everyone eligible to vote can have a hand in changing America's social condition.
