The punk trio, Cellphish, taking the local music scene by storm, embraces the audience with their high-energy performances and head-banging songs, and leaves them begging for more. Throughout California and Arizona, gracing the stage with the likes of Redfield, Hall 13, Authority Zero and more, Cellphish is soon becoming a favorite among local concert-goers. And if their music doesn’t grab your attention, their energy, and down to earth attitudes will.
Throughout their year long run, Cellphish has toured throughout California and Arizona, recorded 2 EP's, have been contacted by many record labels, and have scored a sponsorship by 1369 clothing. But, they don’t let that get to their heads. When asked what their favorite things about being a member of Cellphish, their answers were pretty much the same - They love their fans, they love being able to perform, and plainly just love doing what they do.
But these guys don’t rely on their music to get them through life. In fact, all three members have jobs, girlfriends/wives (if not, ladies, I’d act fast, coz these guys are really something!), children, and so forth, which is what they claim keeps them well grounded, and down to earth. They try to lead as simple of lives as possible, and try not to let their heads go to the clouds.
Call them punk, and they'll correct you. I should know, they corrected me. Their musical talent is influenced by Rock N Roll and Punk music, so they added the two together. They created an original sound they like to call Punk-N-Roll. You haven’t heard anything like them before, but don’t worry, you'll hear plenty from them in the future. These guys will definitely go the rounds and make it out on top.

Check out a few questions we had for Cellphish!
The Media Fix: What would you say your favorite thing about being a member of Cellphish is?
Brian: First, I just love to play music. Second, it makes me happy to play music that we've written and see people really get into it and sing along with us at the shows.
Moska(Jesse): Going on our mini tours of the west coast. Getting to meet new people, make some new friends.
Coddie: The positive energy that surrounds the band. Good vibes, cool fans.
The Media Fix: What are your aspirations for Cellphish -are you satisfied with being a local band, and out of the mainstream, or are you looking into a bigger label and to conquer the punk scene?
Brian: Well I'm not looking to conquer the punk scene, half the people I know wouldn't call us punk either, but that’s a whole nother conversation, we play 'Punk-N-Roll'!!! The local scene is fun because we get to hang out with our friends and play shows with our friends’ bands, but it would be really nice to play some national tours. Touring kicks ass and the support of a 'label' can definitely help out there so we are not against hooking up with the 'right' label.
Moska(Jesse): I never really thought of us as a local band and funny you mention mainstream because someone just called from an indie label saying "you're a record labels wet dream. You tour, you have your shit together but you’re too mainstream for our line up". That cracks me up. As far as bigger labels go we haven't put too much thought on it. If something did happen , well then it happens. All I know is that I'm having a great time right now.
Coddie: Being a local band is cool, sure we all have dreams of moving on to bigger and better things. If it happens it happens. If it doesn’t, at least we are having fun along the way!
The Media Fix: You guys seem to be very down to earth. What is it that keeps you guys so well grounded?
Brian: Lots of things keep us grounded such as each of us have been playing in different bands for about 10 years so we've gotten beyond the 'I'm going to be an instant Rock Star' phase. Like I mentioned before, I just really like to play music. In addition to that, my wife and daughter help me keep a good perspective on the important things in life. And lastly, I actually like my day job/career, not many people I know can say that, which is sad, but if your going to spend 40+ hours a week doing something you might as well enjoy it...
Moska(Jesse): My life is very simple. I work for an aerospace industry laboratory in Los Angeles about 50 to 60 hours a week. I take care of my parents. I just started working as a volunteer for a nonprofit organization on the weekends for an inner-city kids group. I know this is going to sound like a cliché but "I don't know".
Coddie: Everyday life, jobs, girlfriends, etc.
The Media Fix: What do you guys want people to walk away with, after seeing you perform? (Besides the free t-shirts, which I must thank you for!)
Brian: I hope people walk away thinking,"Wow these guys don't suck." That, and I hope they enjoyed the show, we have a lot of fun on stage when we play so hopefully some of it rubs off on the crowd and they have better time then they thought they were going to have.
Moska(Jesse): I want them to walk away knowing that they just had a blast.
Coddie: You're welcome! I guess we want people to have a good time. As long as the crowd is into it, we're into it. And, that’s the best feeling in the world!
The Media Fix: Which of the bands do you most enjoy sharing the stage with and whom would you most like to perform with, in the future?
Brian: I like playing shows with Hall 13, and Authority Zero from Arizona, Indecisive Youth from Chico CA, Third Day Promise and Late As Usual from the local hood. I would like to eventually play some shows with Dance Hall Crashers, Unwritten Law, Goldfinger, and Pennywise!!!
Moska(Jesse): This past year would have to be with Hall 13 and Third day Promise. Oh, and these past two shows with Authority Zero. That brought back some good memories of our two bands at Jugheads. In the future, realistically, No use for a name, Goldfinger and Face to Face would be nice. We did a few shows with The Ataris back in the day; it would be cool to hang out with those guys again. In dream land, just one band, okay maybe four; Fugazi, Helmet, Rollins Band and Blount.
Coddie: Let me start out by saying, we love playing Arizona! There are some kickass bands over there! It's always fun to share the stage with Hall 13, Redfield, and Authority Zero.
